We Are Joint-Heirs With Christ

This reality is simply amazing. When we accept Jesus Christ, the Messiah, as our Lord and savior, becoming a child of God we become a joint heir with Christ. I can scarcely fathom what that means. Joint heir with Christ,,, what will we inherit? Can you imagine life after Christ returns to take us home? So often people blame God for not answering their prayers. They blame God for their loved one dying. They blame God for losing their spouse. They blame God for losing their job. They blame God for letting them get into a wreck and becoming paralyzed from the waist down. Why didn't all powerful, all knowing God prevent these things from happening? Have you ever wondered why God didn't give Jesus a better life? He was born in a manger. Can you imagine the stench of urine and manure in the air? He was born working class and had to learn a trade and work hard and he worked with his hands. He probably got cuts and nicks and splinters while working. He suffered loss. He got angry. God has never expected us to endure anything that Jesus didn't when he was on Earth. As a matter of fact the same verse that states that we are joint-heirs with Christ also states we must suffer with him. We're going to go through some stuff just like he did but where is he now? He's sitting at the right hand of our heavenly father. We too will be seated in high places. In the meantime we must fight the good fight of faith. We are equipped with armor to overcome life's battles. Armor that gives us all we need personally, in our heart and soul, to keep moving forward day in and day out no matter what we're faced with, doing our best to be Christ-like. Trust him. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:17 KJV Lisa C
